Lobelia speciosa ''Starship Blue''

This is a fabulous perennial and is suited to all sorts of situations from full sun to almost full shade.  The flowers are identical to bedding lobelia only larger.  This variety forms a basal clump (ground level) of beauitful green foliage and sturdy stems packed with large purple-blue flowers with good branching habit.  This wonderful, hardy perennial will grow anywhere except the driest sites.  The flower stems are produced from early summer to a height of around 60cm (slightly shorter than L. syphilitica 'Blue').  After flowering new growth is produced from the base of the plant.  Multiplies well.  A must-have!  60cm (when flowering) x 30cm approximately.
