Succica pratensis - ''Devil's Bit Scabiosa''
This is a gorgeous, extremely hardy perennial that forms a basal (ground-level) clump of dark green, evergreen foliage. In mid to late Summer lots of upright, branching stems produce mid-blue/purple rounded flowers that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects. A fabulous cut flower too - cut back after flowering to encourage more growth at the crown and more flowers. Full sun to partial shade in most soils, except very dry. 75cm (when in flower) x 30cm approximately.
