Edible Egyptian Walking Onion ''Allium proliferum''

This is a fascinating and beautiful onion to grow. It forms a good sized clump up to 40cm high. What makes the Egyptian Walking Onion so unique is it literally 'walks'. Instead of producing flowers it forms small bulblets at the top of the delicious green spring-onion like stems. As the bulblets get larger, the stems bend under their weight, eventually touching the ground. They take root and a new clump begins. All parts can be eaten. A must have in every vegetable garden.
