Iris ensata ''Rose Queen'' SEEDS
10 SEEDS - This iris is exquisite. This treasure produces soft pink flowers with darker veins during January/February and forms a sturdy clump. ''Rose Queen'' thrives in sun or part-shade in rich, fertile but well-drained soil. 80x60cm approximately (when in flower).
SOWING INSTRUCTIONS: Soak seeds for 3 days before sowing then sow in seed raising trays with good seed raising mix (I use Dalton Premium) or in single 10cm pots with 2.5cm of potting mix in the bottom and topped up with seed raising mix. (The potting mix will provide food when the seedlings are large enough - this avoids you having to disturb the fragile roots by transplanting the young plants. Cover to twice the depth of the size of the seed with a mix of 2 parts seed raising mix and 1 part vermiculite. You can also just use seed raising mix if you don't have ermiculite. Place somewhere cool and shady until germination occurs, keeping them damp but not waterlogged, then move them into a sunnier spot. They may take a few months to germinate so don't despair if nothing happens for a while.
